The most comfortable and flexible way is to rent a car at San José's Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO). The drive takes about 2h45 to 3h depending on traffic. From the airport, take Route 1 toward San Ramón, then Route 702 through La Tigra to La Fortuna — one of the most scenic approaches to the Arenal region. Once in La Fortuna, head toward the Z13 (Zeta Trece) area; the final 20–25 minutes are on a quiet rural road. Before your arrival we'll send you a Google Maps link with the exact location and final directions. A 4×4 is not required from SJO — any vehicle works.

From Liberia's Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIR), renting a car is again the most comfortable option. The drive is about 2h30 to 3h. Take Route 21 toward Cañas, then merge onto Route 142 toward Tilarán and Nuevo Arenal. This route circles Lake Arenal and offers some of the most spectacular views in the region before descending toward La Fortuna. The final 20–25 minutes from town are on rural road. We recommend an SUV or higher-clearance vehicle, especially during the rainy season.

Yes. Each cabin has private parking within the property, with capacity for up to four vehicles. The parking is uncovered but fully inside the private lodge area, with good nighttime lighting, an electric entry gate, and security-camera access monitoring. The area is quiet and safe throughout your stay.

Absolutely. A car gives you the freedom to explore, visit different attractions, and organize tours without depending on agency schedules. In rural areas like La Fortuna, ride-share options are very limited. All major rental companies have offices at both San José (SJO) and Liberia (LIR) airports. A 4×4 is not strictly needed to reach us, but an SUV or higher-clearance vehicle is more comfortable for exploring other regions. Typical cost: $40–100 USD per day depending on vehicle and insurance.

Check-in begins at 3:00 PM. Check-out is at 11:00 AM. These standard hours let us prepare each cabin carefully so everything is in perfect condition when you arrive.

Zibâ Lodge uses a self check-in system designed to make your arrival simple, private, and effortless. Once your reservation is confirmed, you'll receive via email or WhatsApp all the information you need — including the access codes for the electric gate and for your cabin. This lets you arrive at any time after check-in without coordinating with a physical reception. The process is designed so your arrival feels as natural as walking into your own home. We remain available during your entire stay if you need anything.

Two nights. On occasion we accept one-night bookings when there's availability between reservations — if you'd like a shorter stay, please ask us directly.

Each cabin welcomes up to six guests across three bedrooms: two rooms with Queen beds and one Master Bedroom with a King bed. Each room is designed for two, so up to six guests can stay comfortably in a single cabin.

Our cabins are built in warm wood and designed for an intimate experience in the middle of nature. Each includes a living area with a 75-inch TV, a fully equipped kitchen, a six-person dining table, fiber-optic WiFi, a private pool, private and secure parking, a fire pit, and an outdoor green area to enjoy the rainforest.

Yes — fiber-optic internet at 150 Mbps. Our owner's background is in cybersecurity and telecommunications, so the network is designed for speed, stability, and security — especially important for guests who work remotely.

Yes. Every bedroom has its own air conditioning, plus a larger unit in the main living area to keep the shared space cool.

The pool is 100% private to each cabin — never shared with other guests. Available around the clock during your stay, with no hours.

Yes. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. It includes a refrigerator, electric cooktop, extractor, microwave, and a full set of utensils and basic cookware — everything you need to prepare and share meals during your stay.

No. We don't allow pets, even with an additional fee.

Yes — children are welcome. We don't currently have child-specific amenities, so we recommend adult supervision, especially near the pool.

No smoking or vaping is permitted anywhere on the property.

Intimate celebrations are welcome — anniversaries, birthdays, honeymoons. We don't allow loud parties, and maximum guest capacity cannot be exceeded. After 10:00 PM, noise should remain at a minimum out of respect for the other cabin and the natural setting. If your celebration requires decoration or special logistics, an additional fee may apply.

We accept multiple payment methods: SINPE, credit card, PayPal, Airbnb, and direct bookings via our website (credit card, bank transfer, or SINPE). Both USD and CRC are accepted.

Our cancellation policy is strict — reservations are non-refundable. We appreciate your understanding, as it allows us to preserve the availability and quality of our two-cabin experience.

Catarata La Fortuna is approximately 5 minutes by car from Zibâ Lodge — one of our closest neighbors. The reserve is open 7 AM to 4 PM; entry is $20 USD for adult foreigners.

Yes. We offer an informal concierge service, connecting you with trusted local guides and operators across La Fortuna — hot springs, ziplines, hanging bridges, horseback, volcano hikes, and more. Just tell us what you'd like and we'll make introductions.

Yes. La Fortuna is one of the safest tourist areas in Costa Rica. For evening walks, we recommend staying around the town center where there are restaurants, shops, and lively tourist activity. At Zibâ, the property is gated, well-lit, and camera-monitored.

The Tabacón hot springs are under 20 minutes from the property by car. Eco Termales, The Springs and other options are similarly close — ask us and we'll recommend the one best suited to your trip.

La Fortuna is a year-round destination. May through November is the green season — rainier, but the rainforest is at its most intense and the landscapes are deeply green. December through April is the dry season, with the highest chance of seeing a clear Arenal cone at sunrise and sunset.
